Every job starts with who has jurisdiction over your land
Kansas has no statewide residential building code. It is a home rule state, so cities and counties adopt their own codes, choose their own editions and set their own snow, wind and frost values, and some rural counties issue no residential building permit at all. Septic follows the county sanitary code, or the state minimum standards where a county has none. A plan drawn to another county's answer is the wrong plan for your parcel, whether you are buying a kit or a whole house.
